The high-dimensional spectral flow cytometry and nanostring (HD-SCAN) Unit of the Department of Dermatology specializes in the clinic-related analysis of immune cells and gene expression patterns in the context of various skin and systemic diseases.
Our Cytek Aurora Spectral Flow Cytometer is available for measurements to all interested parties of the University Medical Center Mainz, the RMU and researchers beyond. Hands-on operational training enables the system to be used independently for new users. Thanks to a very low fluctuation range and annual certifications, we guarantee a high measurement quality and reproducibility, ideal conditions for clinic-related and longitudinal studies.
As a unit, we also offer publication-ready, high-dimensional analyses of large flow cytometry datasets, as well as comprehensive support in experimental study design, e.g. for longitudinal research projects. Join our training and teaching opportunities, including our monthly “public flow club”, to learn more about this technology.
Our Nanostring nCounter SPRINT Profiler enables a precise RNA expression analysis of 600–800 validated targets. Validated human and murine panels (600–800 genes) are available for various areas of research and application, including immunology, oncology, neuroscience, infectious diseases, miRNAs, cell and gene therapy, and cardiovascular diseases kits.
Since the nanostring technology does not require amplification or NGS-based sequencing, it is particularly suitable for clinic-related examinations, as measurements can be completed within a few hours. The high device stability and 15 internal controls ensure extremely low measurement fluctuations and make the system ideal for diagnostic questions, as well as highly standardized measurement series with large sample numbers.
In order to support diagnostic or therapeutic decisions, each sample is compared to a large validated reference database of chronic inflammatory diseases to provide a fast and reliable molecular classification.
We will be happy to advise you about our possibilities to enhance your research and in addition to personalized support offers, we also provide full-service solutions for experimental and clinical trials.
